The Birmingham VA Mental Health Clinic is a planned 60,000-square-foot facility to house outpatient, group, family, telehealth and in-home mental health programs for the Birmingham VA Medical Center. It is being constructed on the former site of the Motel Birmingham at 7901 Crestwood Boulevard, and is expected to open in fall 2021.

The two-story clinic is being developed for $30 million by US Federal Properties Co. of Kansas City, Missouri under a lease-purchase agreement with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Under the agreement, the VA provided $14 million in initial construction costs as part of a total expenditure of $76,574,581 in payments over the 20-year term of the agreement.

The architect for the clinic is Hoefer Wysocki of Leawood, Kansas. Hoar is constructing the facility.
