The Birmingham divisions, as laid out in the 1930 Birmingham General Code, created five administrative divisions of the city, known as "Birmingham, North", "Birmingham, South", "Birmingham, West", "Birmingham, Southwest", and "Ensley".
Divisions
- "Birmingham, North": All of Birmingham north of Division Avenue and east of Center Street.
- "Birmingham, South": All of Birmingham south of Division Avenue and east of Center Street.
- "Birmingham, West": All of Birmingham west of Center Street, north of the Atlanta, Birmingham & Atlantic Railroad, and east of the west line of Section 4, Township 18 South, Range 3 West; Section 28, Township 17, Range 3 West; Section 33, Township 17, Range 9 West, and Section 21, Township 17, Range 3 West.
- "Birmingham, Southwest": All of Birmingham west of Center Street and south of the Atlanta, Birmingham & Atlantic Railroad.
- "Ensley": All of Birmingham lying west of the west line of Section 4, Township 18, Range 3 West; Section 33, Township 17, Range 3 West; Section 28, Township 17, Range 3 West, and Section 21, Township 17, Range 3 West, and north of the Atlanta, Birmingham & Atlantic Railroad.
