Blueroot

Blueroot Co. is a restaurant and take-home meal service with locations at 2829 2nd Avenue South in Pepper Place and inside Patina / Melanie Pounds interior design at 2822 Petticoat Lane in Mountain Brook Village.

The company was founded by Jennifer Ryan to fill a local need for quick nutritional meal options. Blueroot specializes in salads, grain bowls and "superfood" snacks. She developed the menu with award-winning chef Robin Bashinsky. The business began as a pop-up takeout window at Pepper Place, which relocated to Mountain Brook Village when the Pepper Place location was converted to a full-service restaurant.
