Books, Beans & Candles
Books, Beans & Candles is a book store and coffee/ tea house specializing in "metaphysical" or pagan, occult, and new age publications, tools, and accessories. The store is located at 1620 Richard Arrington, Jr Boulevard South. The store, which is owned by Mitchell and Necole Stone Hagood, first opened in January 2007 and moved to its present location in August 2008.
Books, Beans & Candles sells herbs, statuettes, books, divination tools, and other implements for pagan or magickal practice. They provide astrology charting, rune casting, tarot reading, reiki healing/Chakra balancing, and aura photography services. The shop hosts periodic "psychic fairs" with low-cost readings, guest speakers, reiki, and divination. On the first Friday of every month, they host "Tea and Tarot," where you can come for a cup of free tea and practice your tarot skills. On the last Friday of every month, they host the Magic City Pagans meetup, where different topics are discussed monthly concerning witchcraft and paganism. The shop also hosts classes on basic to advanced levels of Witchcraft and pagan practices. The lounge area upstairs can be rented for meetings.
