Brent Hinds (born 1974 in Pelham) is a guitarist and singer, most known as part of the Atlanta, Georgia metal band Mastodon.

At his father's insistence, Hinds learned to play banjo before he was given a guitar, attending music school for a couple of years before high school. His current guitar style, featuring fast picking, is influenced by banjo fingerings. To his early country influences, he added a deep appreciation for Neurosis and the Melvins. He was recognized, along with band-mate Bill Kelliher, as "Best Shredders" in the 2007 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards.
