Buck Mulligan's

Buck Mulligan's Public House is an Irish pub and restaurant located in the Shepherd-Sloss Building at 2007-2009 Highland Avenue in Five Points South. Danny Winter and Michael Gordon opened the business in 2015, subleasing the 8,000 square-foot space from Black Market Bar & Grill, which relocated to the building facing Five Points Circle in front of Pickwick Plaza.

The pub was named for a character in James Joyce's novel Ulysses, and the menu, which ranges from traditional Irish favorites and tavern staples to a sort of "Irish-fusion" cuisine, includes several references to Joyce.

Buck Mulligan's remained open while the Barber Companies embarked on a major renovation of the Shepherd-Sloss Building. In May 2017 Black Market Bar & Grill filed a lawsuit alleging non-payment of rent. Meanwhile, Winter and Gordon were unable to reach an agreement with Barber on the terms of a new lease and closed on June 25 while seeking a new location.
