Cecil Stodghill Jr

Cecil F. Stodghill Jr (born c. 1971 in Chattanooga, Tennessee) is the head of the Altamont School.

Stodghill graduated from the McCallie School in Chattanooga in 1989, and earned a bachelor's in business administration in marketing at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida in 1993 and a master's of education in school leadership at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2006.

In addition to coaching track and field and working as a basketball official, Stodghill has worked as an assistant director of student affairs and athletics at Miami, Florida State University in Tallahassee, and Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas.

In 1998 accepted a position as director of multicultural affairs at the McCallie School, and has since served as associate director of admissions at the Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida; as director of graduate support for the Academy Prep Foundation in St Petersburg, Florida; and as director of admissions and enrollment management for Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In 2019 Stodghill was named head of school of the Doane Stuart School in Rensselaer, New York. In November 2021 he was chosen to succeed Christopher Durst as Altamont's sixth head of school, beginning July 1, 2022.
