Charles Denaburg

Charles Leon Denaburg (born c. 1934 in Birmingham) is a partner in the law firm of Najjar Denaburg and co-owner of Levy's Fine Jewelry.

Denaburg is the son of Levy's founder Joe Denaburg, and began working at the family business at age 12. He earned his bachelor of science from the University of Alabama in 1954 and a juris doctorate at the University of Alabama School of Law two years later. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and practiced as a military lawyer, reaching the rank of Captain.

Denaburg was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1956 and has also been admitted to the U.S. Court of Military Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He first practiced with George Traywick and Red Stewart, and then joined the firm of Silberman & Silberman before he opened his own practice in 1961. He merged his practice with Tom Najjar's in 1984.

He took on criminal cases early in his career, but has since specialized in business law and bankruptcy. He also worked for much of his life as a high school and junior college basketball official.

Denaburg is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, and was honored with their "Lifetime Achievement Award" in 2012. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, and past president of the Alabama Academy of Attorney Mediators. He is a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and the American Arbitration Association.

Denaburg and his wife, Jan reside in Mountain Brook and also own a farm in Dunnavant. They have six children and grandchildren.
