Chris England

Christopher John England (born August 19, 1976 in Tuscaloosa) is the Minority Whip and Representative for District 70 in the Alabama House of Representatives. He served as chair of the Alabama Democratic Party from 2019 to 2022.

England earned a bachelor of arts in English and political science at Howard University in 1996 and a juris doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2002. He serves as an associate city attorney for the City of Tuscaloosa. He has also served on the boards of directors for Tuscaloosa Police Athletic League and PRIDE.

England was elected to the state legislature as a Democrat in 2006, and re-elected without opposition in 2010 and 2014. He is a member of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.

England and his wife, Shea Cobb-England, have three children. They are members of Bailey Tabernacle CME Church.
