Chuck Hunter
Chuck Hunter (born c. 1954) is a lawyer and former judicial candidate in 2010 and 2012.
Hunter, running as a Republican, lost the 2010 race for the Circuit Court Place 4 civil court seat in Jefferson County to Democrat incumbent Helen Shores Lee. During that election, he was often quoted as calling himself a "white bread Catholic Republican trial lawyer".
Hunter was set to represent the Republicans for Circuit Court Place 11, a civil court seat, against Democrat incumbent Circuit Judge Houston Brown in 2012 until he was arrested at his Birmingham home by the Hoover Police Department on charges of enticing a minor for sexual purposes and traveling to meet a minor for sexual purposes on June 13, 2012. The next day Jefferson County Republican Party officials asked state party officials to remove Hunter from the ballot. State chairman Bill Armistead called for Hunter to resign the nomination. Hunter refused, and was removed by a vote of the state party's candidate committee on June 15.
