Chuck Wingate (born July 12, 1954) was Chief of the Hoover Fire Department from 2009 until 2017.

Wingate was promoted to succeed Tom Bradley, who retired in 2009.

Wingate began his firefighting career with the Bluff Park Fire District in 1970, when he was just 16 years old. He is a 1978 graduate of UAB and rose within the department to the rank of battalion chief before being named chief.

During Wingate's tenure as chief, in May 2017 the department was upgraded from a Class 2 to a Class 1 insurance rating, the highest a department can receive, making it only one of 12 departments in Alabama to hold the rating.

Wingate retired on August 31, 2017.

Wingate is married (Sandra) and has two adult daughters.
