Dana Duckworth

Dana Dobransky Duckworth (born September 14, 1971 in Sterling Heights, Michigan) was the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide women's gymnastics team f rom 2014 to 2022.

Duckworth graduated from Sterling Heights High School and attended the University of Alabama on a gymnastics scholarship. She helped the team win the 1991 national championship. As a standout on the balance beam, she was a eight-time All American selection and an individual NCAA national titlist, and was named Alabama's NCAA "Woman of the Year" in 1993. After graduating she worked in Dallas as a corporate trainer for the AMX Corporation before returning to Alabama to complete a master's in business administration in 1998.

Duckworth spent the next nine years working in Birmingham and at Pfizer Inc. in Tuscaloosa while volunteering as an assistant coach on Patterson's staff. She was given a paid full-time position in 2008 when Patterson's husband, David, stepped back from a paid to a volunteer role with the team.

When Patterson announced her retirement in 2014, she and fellow assistant Bryan Raschilla interviewed for the head coaching job. On athletic director Bill Battle's recommendation, Duckworth was awarded a 5-year contract in July. Rashcilla was promoted to "associate head coach".

Duckworth married commercial real estate executive Joe Duckworth Jr in 2000 and has two children, Camryn and Jace.

She stepped down as head coach in May 2022 and was succeeded by assistant Gina Quinlan on an interim basis.
