DeWayne Miner

DeWayne Miner (born October 18, 1971) is a social studies teacher and track coach at Calera High School. He also holds the record for the fastest one-mile run in the state of Alabama with a 4 minute 20.35 second finish in the Alabama State One Mile Road Championship held on October 15, 2005 in Florence. The time was nine seconds under the previous record, set in 2004.

Miner, who lives in Vestavia Hills, ran in college for Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri where he was a two-time NCAA All-American.
