Derric Rush

Derric Edwin Rush (born c. 1974; died November 18, 2009 in Birmingham) was media director for the Garywood Assembly of God.

Rush was a 1992 graduate of Satsuma High School in Mobile County.

Rush was killed in an automobile collision on I-20/59 near the Arkadelphia Road exit. Off-duty Birmingham Police officer James Kendrick, driver of the other car, was charged with murder after investigators determined that he had been driving under the influence of alcohol. On March 31, 2011 Kendrick was convicted on the lesser charge of reckless manslaughter and later sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Rush was survived by his wife, Peggy, and son, Dashton.
