Duffee Mountain (called Duffy Mountain in USGS maps) is a ridge running northeast to southwest above the resort of Blount Springs, rising about a mile southwest of Bangor and continuing to Mill Creek.

The highest point of the ridge, a little over 980 feet above sea level, is about a mile from its northeastern end. Most of the ridge is more than 800 feet above sea level, and about 300 feet above the Dry Creek which runs along the base of its southern slope.

Duffee Mountain was purchased in the 1860s by Matthew Duffee and the cottage he built on its ridge became the hermitage of his widow and daughter, Mary Gordon Duffee until her death in 1930. The three of them are buried together nearby. Mary Gordon's spirit is said to haunt the site in the form of mysterious lights.
