E. L. McFee

Dr. Everett Lacosta McFee Jr was a prominent Methodist pastor. He was born March 23, 1920, in Lipscomb where his grandfather George McFee served as mayor. He was standout football player at West End High School alongside his lifelong friend and future college football coach Bill Meek. He matriculated at Birmingham-Southern College in 1943 and received theological training at Union Theological Seminary in New York City and pastored Methodist churches in North Alabama most notably Trinity UMC between 1939 and 1987.
