Empowerment Week

Empowerment Week was a series of programs held during the week of September 11 to 15, coinciding with the 2013 U. S. Conference of Mayors annual meeting and leading up to the 50th Anniversary of the bombing of 16th Street Baptist Church.

16th Street Baptist hosted the "National Conference on Civil Rights" panel discussions.

Schedule

Day 1 (Day of Service)

  • All day: Volunteer service projects and tree plantings coordinated by Hands on Birmingham
  • Trinity Broadcasting Network gospel concert with Wess Morgan, Donnie McClurkin and CeCe Winans at Kelly Ingram Park
