First Partners Bank in Vestavia Hills

First Partners Bank (formerly SouthCity Bank) was a Birmingham-based bank chartered in 2007 and acquired by Huntsville's Progress Bank in 2017. The bank's CEO and president was Elam Holley Jr, former CEO of Peoples Bank. Billy Owens was chairman of the board.

The bank's original headquarters and first retail location is at 1360 Montgomery Highway, in the Vestridge Commons shopping center in Vestavia Hills.

Frank Petrusnek and Greg Clark were initially slated to take the roles of CEO and president, but they were rejected by state regulators. Holley was tapped soon after, with Petrusnek and Clark joining the Board of Directors.

In 2012 the bank rebranded as "First Partners". In November 2013 the bank moved its headquarters into the newly-renovated Southern Life & Health Insurance building on Highland Avenue.

Progress Bank acquired First Partners in February 2017 for $41.9 million.
