Fred Fletcher

Fred S. Fletcher was a district agent for Curtis Publishing, handling wholesale and retail sales of newspapers and magazines throughout the Birmingham district during the 1920s.

He opened one of the first "modern" newsstands in the city, setting up shop at 122 20th Street North, alongside W. G. Patterson Cigar Co. Stand No. 1, in 1921. He and his wife, Carrie resided at 320 59th Street South in Woodlawn.
