Fuller Supply Co.
Fuller Supply Company was a farm, pet, and garden supply company located at 3500 Messer Airport Highway in Birmingham. It was founded in 1935 by William Fuller Sr.
The business, then located at 2513 4th Avenue North, was incorporated in 1964. Over the years it specialized more in livestock handling and veterinary equipment for horse and cattle ranching, but continued to stock a wide variety of products to wholesale customers.
In 2003 the company reported $13 million in gross sales and 52 employees, of which 23 worked at company's two 12,000 square-foot facilities in downtown Birmingham: one at and 24th Street at 10th Avenue North and the other on the 900 block of 23rd Street North
In 2004 the company relocated to the vacant former Birmingham Tobacco Co. warehouse on Messer Airport Highway in order to make room for development of Protective Stadium. Emory Kirkwood & Associates designed the renovations, which were carried out by the Richardson Construction Co.
William Fuller Jr succeeded his father as president in 1967 and worked until his death in 2018. His daughter, Carrie Coons, closed the business and sold the office and warehouse facility to Carl Skinner in November 2024.
