Gary Childs

Gary Childs (born c. 1948, died December 7, 2009) was the commander of the Birmingham Police Department's East Precinct.

Childs retired from the force in January 2009 after more than 31 years of service at the BPD. He had been paralyzed in a motorcycle accident in Springville in 2007. He was killed in a traffic accident in December 2009.
