Green Springs Plaza was a shopping center development announced in April 1958 for the intersection of Green Springs Highway and 6th Street South, near Ollie's Barbecue. The project was jointly developed by Molton, Allen & Williams and a group of Minneapolis, Minnesota investors incorporated as "Green Springs Plaza Shopping Center, Inc."

33 stores were planned as part of the $3.5 million development which would serve shoppers from Five Points South, West End, Homewood, Edgewood, Edgemont, Oak Grove, Bluff Park and Vestavia Hills. When it was announced it was expected to amass $13 million in annual gross sales and to employ 400 people. The parking lot was designed for 1,600 cars.
