Greenwood Elementary School is an elementary school in the Jefferson County school system serving grades K-5. It is located at 1219 School Road in Bessemer.

The school was constructed with Works Progress Administration labor in 1937 to serve the federally-planned Greenwood Community. The school served grades 1-9 and was operated by Jefferson County Schools. In 1945 a six-room annex was constructed. The completion of Greenwood Junior High School in 1959 left the older school for elementary grades.

In 1966 the community was annexed into the City of Bessemer and the Bessemer Board of Education took over Greenwood Elementary.
