Harbert Management Corp. (HMC) is a multinational privately-owned investment management company with $8.4 billion in regulatory assets under management. It was founded in 1993 by Raymond Harbert, who serves as chairman and CEO.

It is the parent of Harbert Realty Services. In addition to its current Birmingham headquarters at the Concord Center, the company has offices in Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; New York City; Richmond, Virginia; San Francisco and Los Angeles, California; London, England; Luxembourg; Paris, France; and Madrid, Spain.

In 1998 Harbert Management Corp. launched the HERO Foundation, an employee-owned non-profit, to support individuals affected by natural disasters.

In 2001 Harbert Management Corp. co-founded Harbinger Capital Partners with Barclays trader Philip Falcone.

In 2007 the firm relocated from the Harbert Construction headquarters at 1 Riverchase Parkway South to the Concord Center in downtown Birmingham.

In December 2021 Harbert Management Corp. acquired a controlling interest in South Bay Partners of Dallas, Texas.
