Highlands Publications

Highlands Publications is a publisher located at 312 Lorna Square in Hoover. The owners are Tim Garmon and Dennis Daughety, with Garmon acting as president.

History

Highlands Publications was founded in June 2007. The senior staff come from various local companies. Garmon worked with Cahaba Media Group. Russell Haddock, vice president of sales, previously handled ad sales at Hoffman Media. Garmon and Haddock met at Vulcan Publications around the turn of the 21st century. The general manager, Chris Garmon, is Tim Garmon's wife and previously worked for Vulcan Publications and Southern Progress.

The company currently publishes one magazine, Modern Contractor Solutions, which is targeted at general and concrete contractors. The company plans to start a second publication targeted at a different industry in October 2008.
