Hush Lounge
Hush Lounge Cigar & Hookah Bar, stylized as HUSH Lounge, was a speakeasy-styled cigar and hookah bar located at 2012 Magnolia Avenue in Pickwick Place in Five Points South. It was opened in June 2019 by Birmingham Police officer Ryan Pryor.
The bar featured low, upholstered lounge seating with internally-lit cocktail tables. The business was affected by flooding caused by heavy rains on April 20, 2020.
Pryor retired from the police department in March 2024.
On the evening of Saturday, September 21, 2024 a group of assailants opened fire on the crowd gathered outside and lined up to enter the club. Four people were killed and 18 others wounded. Pryor expressed shock and dismay over the violence. The club reopened the following night.
Pryor closed the business on December 1.
