The Iron Cup is the name given to the annual intercollegiate ice hockey game between the teams of Auburn University and the University of Alabama. Played at the Pelham Civic Complex for the inaugural series, the event features the Alabama Frozen Tide and Auburn Tigers Hockey with the winner receiving the Iron Cup Trophy. The game was first played in 2011 which was also the first year Auburn fielded a team since the 1980s. Both squads compete as club teams, not as part of the NCAA.
