James Stanley "Big Jim" Freeman (born May 12, 1874 in Jasper; died April 26, 1960 in Jasper) was a Wall Street investor who was known for making and losing a million dollars on the stock market twice before 1900.

Freeman also served in city government, and was Jasper's City Manager from 1953 to 1955.

Freeman was reported to be one of the wealthiest men in the Southern United States when he retired.

Freeman married the former Willie Lee Shepherd in October 1898. The couple had one son, James Shepherd Freeman.
