James Wilson III

James Winfrey Wilson III (born June 14, 1963 in Montgomery, Montgomery County; died March 11, 2023 in Montgomery) was a commercial real estate developer and a member of the University of Alabama Board of Trustees.

Wilson was one of four children born to Jim Wilson Jr and his wife, Wynona. He graduated from Montgomery Academy and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Alabama in 1985. He spent the next two years working with Manufacturers Hanover in New York City, where he met and married the former Susie Forst. In 1988 he returned to Alabama as an executive at Jim Wilson & Associates, founded by his father in 1975.

After his father's death in 2006, Wilson took over as chairman and CEO for the company.

Wilson was appointed to the University of Alabama Board of Trustees and served on the physical properties committee and later as chair of the athletics committee, and as president of the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital Authority.

Wilson died in 2023 after a sudden illness. He was survived by his wife and two daughters, Lillian and Wesley.
