Janae Pierre

Janae Pierre (born c. 1990 in New Orleans, Louisiana) was a reporter and local host for "All Things Considered" on WBHM-FM from 2018 to 2022.

Pierre graduated from Archbishop Blenk High School and enrolled at Xavier University in New Orleans as a political science major. She switched to mass communications before completing her bachelor's degree in 2013. While in college she interned at WBOK-AM and was promoted their to news producer and eventually to community events director and host of a drive-time talk show. After five years there she moved over to New Orleans' public radio, WWNO-FM, and served as host there for "All Things Considered" before coming to Birmingham in the same role in 2018.

Pierre was named "Producer of the Year" by eXposed magazine in 2014 and was named a "Future African American Leader in Radio" by Radio Ink in 2017. She has also been recognized for her commitment to volunteerism, receiving the 2015 "Mrs Sophie Aramburo Servant Leader Award" from the Archdiocese of New Orleans's Office of Black Catholic Ministries.

Pierre left WBHM in January 2022 in order to host local segments for NPR's "Consider This" podcast on behalf of New York Public Radio.
