Jeffrey Michael Rusert (born c. 1966) is a former custom homebuilder and designer who pleaded guilty to federal charges of fraud and embezzlement.

Rusert operated a Decks R Us, a deck-building company in Montgomery in the 1990s and founded America's Home Plan Center in 2001.

Rusert and his wife, Nina, a mortgage broker, founded BuildSouth Homes in 2001 and Rusert Homes LLC in 2007. That firm filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2014, claiming $2,556,802 of debts against $1,211,600 in assets. Later the same year the Ruserts founded Southern Craftsman Custom Homes. In 2015, facing disciplinary actions from the Alabama Home Builders Licensure Board, Rusert voluntarily surrendered the home builder licenses associated with Built By U Homes, Rusert Homes and BuildSouth Homes.

In 2019 Rusert pleaded guilty to stealing more than $1.3 million from clients of his company through false applications to their mortgage lenders, whom he defrauded between 2016 and 2018. He was sentenced to 41 months in prison by Judge Karon Bowdre.
