Jefferson County drug overdoses by year

This is a list of Jefferson County drug overdoses by year, from statistics compiled by the Jefferson County Department of Health.

In 2023 Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates told AL.com that he has seen a succession of predominant drugs responsible for overdose deaths, "from prescription opioids, to heroin, to fentanyl, and now to fentanyl being mixed into all illicit substances."
