John Keeling

John J. Keeling (born in Gadsden) is the staff attorney for Black Warrior Riverkeeper.

Keeling is an avid outdoorsman, having camped in over 20 national parks, and has taken ornithological trips throughout the country, as well as canoeing explorations down Alabama’s rivers and streams in search of artifacts. Keeling graduated from the University of Alabama in 2002 with a degree in Commerce and Business Administration. He began practicing law in 2006 after graduating from Tulane University Law School. Keeling spent two years practicing law in both state and federal courts while maintaining a successful general law practice in Birmingham. On March 4, 2008, Keeling took the staff attorney position for Black Warrior Riverkeeper. Keeling works alongside the non-profit's prosecuting attorney, Mark Martin.
