Jon Crow

Jon K. Crow (born November 26, 1921 in Birmingham; died January 14, 2012 in Greenville, South Carolina) was a Presbyterian pastor and missionary.

Crow was the son of William and Elizabeth Smith Crow of Birmingham. He graduated from Howard College and the Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia and worked in Danville, Virginia before moving to Brazil, where he and his wife, Flora served as a missionaries from 1950 to 1966.

After returning to the United States, Crow taught at Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia until 1975. He came back to Birmingham as senior pastor of Avondale Presbyterian Church, then moved to Dallas, Texas to serve as an associate pastor for Casa Linda Presbyterian Church. Throughout his later career, Crow returned to Brazil many times with the "Evangelism Explosion" campaign.

In 1984, nearly a year after Flora's death, Crow married fellow missionary Shirley Stixrud. They retired to Rosman, North Carolina. Crow died in 2012 and was survived by his second wife, four children, six step-children, 22 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Crow was buried at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina.
