Julie Smith West (born February 24, 1976 in Birmingham) was the winner of the 1999 Miss Alabama pageant.

Smith is the daughter of Robert and Sharon Ingram Smith. She grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Huffman High School and then completed a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, cum laude, from Samford University.

Smith won the title of Miss Lake Harding in 1997 and competed against her two twin sisters, Jennifer and Jill, in that year's Miss Alabama pageant. She returned in 1998 as the reigning Miss Magic City, winning the preliminary swimsuit competition and finishing as second runner-up.

In Smith's third Miss Alabama pageant, she competed as Miss Chattahoochee Valley. She played a medley of "Flight of the Bumblebee" and "Csárdás" on the marimba for her talent and spoke about her efforts to raise awareness about breast cancer. She was crowned Miss Alabama on June 19, 1999 and was awarded $10,000 in scholarships along with other prizes.

At the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey Smith finished in the top ten.

Smith is married to Rob West and lives in Roswell, Georgia.
