Julie Watters

Julie Calton Watters is an artist and art instructor with a special interest in community service. She founded the Raise the Voice art auction benefitting Rape Response and the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner’s office.

Watters earned her bachelor of arts with a concentration on painting at UAB in 2001, winning an award of distinction during the juried exhibition for her senior year. She has exhibited frequently at Bare Hands Gallery and contributed regularly to Studio By The Tracks' Art from the Heart exhibitions.

As an instructor, Watters has worked with Leeds City Schools, Northstar Youth Ministries, Space One Eleven, and Sculpture Sight.

Watters is married to Eric Watters and has one child. In addition to her work in visual arts she is a member of the Ultra Hip Revue bellydancing troupe and has also worked as a bartender.
