Lanier Isom

Lanier Scott Isom (born November 10, 1965 in Birmingham) is a journalist and author. She is known as the co-writer of Lilly Ledbetter's memoir.

Isom grew up in Birmingham and was a long-distance track athlete at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She and her husband Hugo split time between Birmingham and Mentone, DeKalb County. They have two children.

In 2017 Isom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Ledbetter's memoir was adapted into a feature film in 2022. Isom also served as a consultant for the production.
