Lanny Chappelear

Harold Landers Chappelear (born March 17, 1939 in Birmingham; died December 4, 2018 in Birmingham) was a commercial artist.

Chappelear was the son of Harold D. and Fleeta Holt Dodderar Chappelear. He grew up in Birmingham and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Afterward he returned to the Birmingham area. He married Linda Osborne and raised a daughter, Tracey, in Hoover.

He was the owner of Chappelear & Associates which provided commercial art and graphic design services. He was commissioned to create murals for the interior of Children's Hospital and provided courtroom sketches during the murder trials of Frank Cherry and Thomas Blanton.
