The Legal Services Building is a 2-story brick- and stone-clad building located at 1820 7th Avenue North. It was constructed in 1960 for the Birmingham Gospel Tabernacle, which had owned the site since 1930.

The church building was constructed for $160,000. It was fully air-conditioned, and was equipped with special lighting and equipment for televising services. In addition to the main sanctuary, the building accommodated a nursery, Sunday School rooms, and offices.

The church relocated to Vestavia Hills in the 1960s and changed its name to the Vestavia Alliance Church. The present Birmingham Fire Station No. 1 was constructed adjacent to the Tabernacle building in 1971.

The Tabernacle's former building was later converted into offices. The cross-shaped cap on the entrance tower was removed. The property is currently managed by Watts Realty. In 2010 Watts commissioned Hendon & Huckestein Architects to prepare plans for a complete renovation of the building.
