  46. Jerome Daniels, died November 18, 2002. He was killed in a shootout with a robber while dining, off-duty, at Reno's Chicken & Burgers on Graymont Avenue.
  47. C. Robert Bennett, died June 17, 2004. He and two other officers were killed in an ambush while attempting to serve an assault warrant at an apartment house in Ensley.
  48. Harley Chisholm III, died June 17, 2004. He and two other officers were killed in an ambush while attempting to serve an assault warrant at an apartment house in Ensley.
  49. Carlos Owens, died June 17, 2004. He and two other officers were killed in an ambush while attempting to serve an assault warrant at an apartment house in Ensley.
  50. Wytasha Carter, died January 13, 2019. He was shot to death while patting down a suspect observed looking into cars on the 900 block of 5th Avenue North in Smithfield. Jeremy Elwin Owens pleaded guilty to capital murder and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
  51. Randall Versie Smith, died December 28, 2020. He was inadvertently shot and wounded by a fellow officer while responding to a domestic disturbance call on March 25, 1995. Smith died 24 years later from complications related to that injury. (link)
