• July 23: Carey "Blood" Morgan, 24, a suspect in a string of robberies, was found dead in a ditch near the intersection of Fairfax Avenue and 14th Street Bessemer, having apparently been dumped there. (report)
• July 23: Addie Morgan, 26, Carey Morgan's wife, was shot to death outside the home of a friend on the 2100 block of Carolina Avenue later the same day after being interviewed by police. (report)
