McDonald Street

McDonald Street is a short residential street located east of Huntsville Avenue for one block, then extending one block past Main Street in eastern Brighton.

LaDarrius Gaitor was murdered on the 1200 block of McDonald Street on September 7, 2009. Eric Law was arrested and charged with the capital murder. Gaitor's mother, Della Mae Banks, had been killed a month earlier at her home on Tremont Street. She was struck by a stray bullet during a large gun battle, itself precipitated by another murder, that of Brandon McGuire earlier that day on nearby Jesse Owens Avenue in Birmingham.
