Mendelssohn Club

The Mendelssohn Club was founded in 1888 to study and perform orotorios. The were led by Professor Burbanks, and met at Seal's Hall. The club performed for the meeting of the Southern Surgical and Gynecological Association at O'Brien's Opera House that September.

In 1889 the Mendelssohn club rehearsed "The Legend of Don Munio", a cantata by Dudley Buck.
