Michael Foster

Michael L. Foster (born in Buffalo, New York) is a former superintendent of Bessemer City Schools.

Foster first came to the Bessemer system in 1977 and served as the system's director of federal programs before assuming the mantle of interim superintendent from Deborah Horn in October 2008. He beat out four other candidates for the full time position in March 2010, but announced his retirement only a few months later. He was succeeded by Fred Primm.
