Mickey Gee

Morris M. "Mickey" Gee (born c. 1945 in Leeds; died March 5, 2012) was the owner of The Pants Store and an instructor at UAB.

Gee began working at his father's retail store in 1950 and He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in marketing at the University of Alabama in 1968 and 1969 and served in the Alabama Air National Guard until 1976. He took over as president of The Pants Store's parent company, the Taylor Company, in 1972. He served three terms as president of the Leeds Chamber of Commerce and also chaired the Leeds Economic Development Board and served on the board of the Alabama Retail Association. He also served on the boards of directors for AmSouth Bank and Alloy Cast Company. He became an instructor in the UAB Department of Marketing in 1997 and was appointed director of UAB's internship program in 2001. He retired from business in 2005 to teach full time.

Gee was an officer for the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham. He died in 2012 after suffering a torn aorta. He was survived by his wife, Harriet, two sons, and four grandchildren.
