Nadria Tucker

Nadria Tucker (born in Atmore, Escambia County) is a writer and television producer.

Tucker earned a bachelor of arts in English and psychology at Auburn University, where she was a member of the marching band, and worked as an editorial intern for Birmingham magazine in 2005. In 2006 she took a job as an office association for Giattina Aycock Architecture Studio and later worked as an editorial assistant for Lipstick magazine, which was launched in November 2007.

Tucker completed a master of arts in English and creative writing at UAB in 2010. While there she worked as a production assistant, creating and publishing text and video content for the National Science Foundation-funded "Supporting Urban Science and Mathematics Educators" program at the UAB School of Education. She also partnered with Catherine Wright to make a short film, "A Pound of Debt: Insurance and the Arts" for UAB's Digital City Films project and joined the screening committee for the Sidewalk Film Festival.

Between 2011 and 2012 Tucker self-published several short stories, including a collection entitled The Heaviest Corner on Earth, and a novel entitled Darwin, Singer. Her work also appeared in the literary magazines Fiction 365, New Southerner and THE2NDHAND. In 2012 she relocated to Hollywood, California and worked as an intern for Franklin Leonard's "The Black List". She joined the Creative Artists Agency as a television scriptwriting assistant in 2013.

Tucker's first broadcast television credit was for a 2017 episode of the WGN series "Underground". In 2019 she joined the writing team for SyFy's "Krypton", and was given two "written by" credits in addition to her role as story editor. In 2020 she was brought on as a producer and writer for the CW series "Superman and Lois". During production, Tucker complained to showrunner Todd Helbing about issues of representation for minorities and women in the approved scripts. She was fired from the show in November.
