Nancy Lewis

Nancy Lewis (born September 14, 1958) is a cook at Children's Hospital in Birmingham.

Lewis disappeared on May 18, 2005, having last been seen by her roommate when leaving her Princeton Avenue residence on her way to work at 3:45 A.M. When she failed to report to work, a coworker reached her on her cell phone. Lewis said she was delayed by a flat tire and had called her brother for help. Neither of her brothers heard from her and she never appeared at work or returned home.

Her blue 2000 Chevrolet S-10 truck was spotted the next evening at a Shell station on Bessemer Superhighway in Midfield, being driven by a male. It was recovered three days later, with no evidence of a flat, at the Pilot Travel Center on Bankhead Highway. The fingerprints of Penny L. Clark were found in the recovered vehicle. Police did question a John Dubose, who had driven the truck. Dubose led them to Terry Shannon, whose prints were also found. No other information has been divulged.

The family and Tuscaloosa developer Stan Pate contributed toward an reward of $12,000. The state of Alabama added a $5,000 reward on July 7.
