North Birmingham Homes
North Birmingham Homes, also called Vice Hill is a public housing project operated by the Housing Authority of the Birmingham District located at 3127 43rd Avenue North in the Fairmont neighborhood of the North Birmingham community, near Boyles and the former Riggins School.
The community, which is secured by a gated entry, currently consists of 271 one- to six-bedroom apartments. It is managed by Julius Howard. The complex includes a Community center and gymnasium. HABD offers an "Even Start" program with GED, child development and parenting classes, as well as summer camps. Birmingham Health Care also offers clinic services at the community.
The Housing Authority has submitted proposals to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to demolish the North Birmingham Homes complex.
