Palisades Boulevard is a 3/4-mile, four-lane road featuring a grassy median running from Columbiana Road to Valley Avenue in front of the Palisades Shopping Center in Birmingham's Glen Iris neighborhood. The majority of the road runs northeast-southwest, except for the eastern end, which turns to a north-south path.

Palisades Boulevard was built at the same time as the shopping center in the late 1980s. Once completed, Oxmoor Road was cut off on the east side of Columbiana Road and east-bound traffic instead directed on to Palisades Boulevard. To continue on Oxmoor, traffic must turn right at Palisades Drive, which then becomes Oxmoor. West-bound traffic on Oxmoor, in order to return to Oxmoor, must take the tunnel that leads from north-bound Palisades Drive to west-bound Palisades Boulevard.
