Phillips-Patterson-Taylor house July 2011

The Phillips-Patterson-Taylor house is located at 1730 Hillcrest Road in Center Point. It was the home of W. G. Patterson, owner of Patterson's Retail Cigar Company, and is located on land once part of a plantation owned by the Reed family. It is situated across Polly Reed Road from Barber Springs and Reed-Harvey Park.

The Center Point Women's Historical Society, which includes Betty Henderson, wife of Center Point mayor Tom Henderson, has attempted to have the city purchase the home for use as an events center, and to expand the city-owned Reed-Harvey Park. The Center Point City Council approved negotiations to purchase the house in October 2010.

By July 2011, the land adjacent to the house, along with a lake, were incorporated into Reed-Harvey Park, including a parking area along Reed Road, and renovations to the house had begun.
